Oil Pressure issues/5.0
I'm in desperate need of some reliable information here guys. My factory oil pressure gauge went crazy so I replaced it with a autometer oil pressure gauge with copper tubing. On cold days when the truck is warm its ready about 20 psi at idle. when its warmer out it usually reads about 15 psi and sometimes down to 10 psi at idle when warm. I worry about these numbers, are they normal or should I be getting ready to change my oil pump?

Thanks a lot. I couldn't find much on what my oil pressure should be at but this makes sense. I stay about 10 at idle. Would Lucas Oil stabilizer help any? I have no prior experience with the stuff.

I dont know about any stableizers but check your oil pan and see if it still looks ok because if it is leaking then i would get that fixed asap and then they or you can put on a new oil pump whille ur at it. If you still have the original on there it might be smart depending on the miles that are on it.
