Default inconsistent 5.8 rattle, help!

My 96 5.8 4x4 f150 rattles randomly at idle, it stops most of the time when put into drive holding the brake, but has rattled in drive while not moving once or twice before. It does sometimes rattle while in drive idling off the brake and moving. I can hear the rattle increase in speed as I rev the engine, but stops im assuming (no tachometer) around 1500 to 2000 rpm. It sounds like someone violently and quickly shacking a rattle can of paint. Could it be lifter? My dad did say it sounded kinda like valve lash, but I dont know for sure what it is. Ill try to post a link to a video of it doing it, the vid was for a leak I had, but it makes the noise too. It sounds a little like its coming from the tranny, but could just be the acoustics of he truck. oil and oil level is good, and oil pressure gage in truck shows good, but it never really changes, is it a " if its above x pressure then it shows the same thing" type of gage, or is it fully functional? The video is for my leak that I did have, but i fixed that. In the video you can hear the rattle though.

Wouldnt it be consistant then? It is like someone taking spray paint, quickly shaking it for anywher from 1 to 20 seconds, then stopping, and doing it again.

I check to see if exhaust is bolted to manifold good, and try and listen to make sure the manifold itself isnt leaking. Then ill run some seafoam through to make sure it isnt leaking up there, and if it isnt on to the next possibility. Hoping it isnt my lifters and or valves, are they adjustable or self adjustable?

well, tightened up the exhaust, thought it got quieter, but it could be coincidental. I stuck a screw driver to everything, and found that the noise seems to be coming from the tranny, sounds loudest when i put the screw driver on the pan. What could be wrong with it? It shifts great, and I just took it out to replace front pump seal. So it has new fluid, although I do want to change it again to change pans and put on a drain plug. But what is thenoise?
