HELP! Truck died coming off the freeway
I was exiting the freeway and the truck died. Thought I may have stahled but it wont turn over. Im pretty positive its not the battery because the raido comes on. I think it may be a clogged fuel filter. Any thoughts, opinions or ideas as to what it may be?

It's a 96 f150 5.0 with 187,000 miles rebuilt both the engine and transmission, I'm thinking its either the ignition coil or the fuel pump, my rear fuel pump already went out so it seems fitting it was time for the front to do the same

Check for spark/check for fuel. A sudden death on the highway can be as simple as a fuel pressure relay or TFI module. With my experience with foxbodys and Ford's motors of this era these two have been the culprit many times.

Sorry I don't have any suggestions but my truck (f150 4x4 xlt/302) did the same thing recently and i wondered if you figured anything out yet. Im really leaning towards the fuel pump Going out sounds like you are too?

I was out of gas. Feel like such an idiot, but my fuel gauge isn't working right now and I had just filled up two days prior so I thought there was no way I was out of gas. Guess I was wrong, however if its not your fuel pump it could be your fuel filter mines pretty clogged so I'm going to replace it.

Gas is pretty essential........ but I did the same thing when I got my truck, except i had enough gas in the back tank to get me to the gas station a quarter mile away and roll in. At first I thought no way I'm out of gas. ( my gage is off, Im out at an 8th tank by the gage)
