Default Fuel pressure issues 88 f150 5.0

Ok this is a weird one I can turn key on to prime the fuel rail and push the Schrader valve and fuel comes out maybe an inch and won't start unless you use ether but it's running rich as Hell it burns my eyes

You can push the schrader valve all you want - it's not telling you much (except you don't have near enough pressure.
20 psi will bounce fuel off the ceiling, but it won't run the truck. 30 psi will (barely). You want over 40 ideally. 45 is max, you want to be close to that.
The only way to test fuel pressure is with a gauge.
