Fuel injected to carb swap
This is my first post ever on a forum so please go easy on me. I have a '92 f150 5.0L efi engine aod tranny and I was recently presented with the opportunity of free parts from a'90 mustang 5.0L carb consisting of a intake manifold and carb. My question: "Is it possibly to interchange the parts see as they are both designated with the N engine code?" What parts would be needed to complete this task can I dump the old computer.

Gotta have the computer for the tranny. Is there something wrong with the efi? The factory truck intake is better than the mustang intakes btw. It's do able and alot of people have done it but your going to have a cel and it's going to move your power band higher in the Rpms

IIRC all 90 5.0 Mustangs had EFI from the factory, I know that my 88 Cougar 5.0 had EFI.
Your 92 distributer needs a computer so you'll need all of the engine management systems from the Mustang. The carb would also require a fuel pressure regulater and some way to control the fuel pump.
I have had EFI and carb 302s in cars and trucks and I would not want a car cam/intake in a truck or a truck cam/intake in a car. It can be done but it could become expensive and technically illegal since it violates federal emissions laws if its going to be on the road.

Emissions laws in florida are possibly different from where you guys live. My truck is over 100000 so I'm not required to have a cat or any of the other smog crap . Basically what I am understanding is I should just find a carbureted mustang 5.0L because it would be cheaper than trying to convert this motor over.

Last time I checked Florida was still part of the United States. It is against Federal law to tamper with the emission control system. Many states don't test for emissions or have safety inspections, but it doesn't mean its legal to do so.
