Default Engine harness info.

Hello. I recently picked up a 91 f150 4X4 with. 5.0 V8. The truck ran fine for about a week and then I started having issues and found the wiring harness had been cut into and spliced randomly. I think the easiest fix is to just replace the main engine harness. The truck is an automatic. Can I use any year harness as long as it's the same generation? Does anyone know the correct harness part number for the truck. Thanks in advance for the help.

If you have a junk yard around there I'd go look for one there. I've searched for a replacement harness and they can run up to 500 dollars. look at a junkyard I'm not sure if a 5.8l harness would fit

Yea. You can find them on eBay all day for about 100 bucks. I found one out of a 95 bronco 4x4 with an automatic transmission that I think will work in my 91 f150. Just hoping someone can confirm there was no changes in the harness from 91 to 95. Thanks for replying.

Is your 95 MAF? that would be my only difference that I can think of... They switched to MAF some point in 95 and not sure if it plugs into the engine harness

No. A 95 harness will not work on a 91.
A 351 harness will not work for you either.
Keep looking for the right one, or remove your harness, strip the tape and repair it.
Not that you can't make things work, but you really need to understand a lot about the engine electrical to jury-rig and re pin an incorrect harness. (in my humble opinion).

Thanks for the reply. Got extremely lucky and found a 91 with a blown 302 on craigs list. Bargained it down to $600 so I'll have a lot of extra parts out of the deal.
