Just wondering if I can effectively chip my 5.0 pooch of a motor in a 2013 supercrew cab F150 4x4 XLT. I have also heard you can change the shift points in these but have not looked into it much yet. Why would they take out the 5.4 and replace a heavy work truck with such a small motor? It's very frustrating. Dang thing goes to 5th gear while I'm only going 30 MPH then is a real dog between 2nd and 3rd.

holy crap, man, the 5.0 or any new F150 motor for that matter is much better than the 5.4 (and it's only 8% smaller while being more efficient / powerful).
what you're describing is the tranny looking for higher gears at low speed (better fuel economy in theory), not anything wrong with the engine.
There are dozens of tuners out there, and roughly 1,245,987 threads discussing them.
