Question 97 explorer 5.0 in an 95 f150

Hey guys sup I'm new to the forum and I have some questions. I have 95 5.0 2wd a4od ford f150 and the factory 5.0 blew up. The only motor replacement motor I have found is a 97 explorer motor and I'm getting it for only 400$. I was wondering if I could just swap my old intake and distributor on the new motor ,plug it in the computer and I would be good to go if not what do I do. Thanks in advance

yes it will work, and that is a good motor to get the explorers had the GT-40 heads, but I think in 97 they went to the GT-40p, and the plugs were at an angle, so you may need to check on plug clearance with the factory exhaust manifolds or maybe you could use the ones that come on it, im pretty sure your oil pan will be different, and im sure you know they had coil packs, but you can take the cam sensor right out and put your distributor in, your 95 f150 5.0 is a roller motor as is the explorer motor so your distributor will be fine, but the explorere motors are desirable, so you will gain some extra horsepower in your motor swap...

Yes the stock manifolds for the truck will have to be replaced. I have the GT-40p heads on my 94 5.0 & had to get the explorer manifolds. G
