91 5.0 v8 - very high idle
Hello, I recently bought a 91 f150 with a 5.0 V8 that has a high idle problem.
right now it consistently holds 2000 rpms.
I have replaced the MAP sensor, tps, and iac. I had it hooked to a vacuum guage and it was holding right about 17 in hg.
disconnected the iac and it did not do a thing.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks!

Check for codes. There are other things such as the EGR position sensor that could cause a high idle.
If you don't have a scan tool, it would be a wise investment. They aren't all that cheap and you might want to buy the cable for the scan tool as well so you can sit in the truck and actuate the brakes and gas pedal as the scan tool requires you to do.

Just found out that i have a cracked head so i wont be worrying about this for a while. Just need to decide if i should rebuild this one or get a new block.
