Default 77 460 valve springs

I have a 77 f150 with a 460. I would like to replace the valve springs. The parts stores has two different springs listed for this engine. They have different uncompressed lengths. How do I know which ones I need without removing one and taking it to the store? Does the length matter? The engine came from a 77 van.

Thanks

I tried the ford dealer. Their books only go back to 1980

My books show only one for YMs 74 thru 82, all trucks 460 engine. It shows installed height of 1 51/64ths to 1 53/64ths, obviously in inches. Spring test is 80lbs at 1.81". Hope that was helpful info.

Thanks for the info. I cross referenced it with the stores website and think I have it figured out
