I have a 87 f150 reg cab LB 2wd. I am replacing the 4.9L with a 5.8L. Was originally going to go with an AOD, but got to thinking... I would love to have a 5spd! If I was able to find a good donor, would I even need the ECU? I know I can remove the shift lever, and dash numbers will just be for looks, other than trans, mount, slave & clutch cylinders, pedal, etc. What else would be required? Been a mechanic for years, never converted an auto to manual before. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
