No expert here but I have read on this forum that when you disable or remove rear tank, the fuel hoses need to have a bypass...it has to go out and back.
I hope I wrote that correctly and please correct me if I'm wrong here.

Both hoses have to be properly capped off. If not you would lose fuel pressure - if for instance you used a hose to join one to the other.
If the rear pump was still there and you were using the front pump, both rear lines would be closed off by the (check and shuttle) valves in the pump - and vice versa when you're running off the rear pump.
That way the running pump can build pressure - instead of just pumping to the other tank.
When you remove the pump, both lines have to be closed off completely as if the check valves were still there.
Sort of exactly the opposite of what you were thinking there eric, but now you know better how it works .

All good! I love both my tanks. Of course I had to pay a guy to get both pumps to work
With 1/3 of the gas mileage most cars get, we need 2 tanks!
