1995 5.0L 4x4 Oil pan gasket & Oil level
Just finished replacing the oil pan gasket on my truck--not easy but do-able! I had to disconnect exhaust, motor mounts, and jack motor as hi as i could, then i snaked in (very carefully) the new one piece gasket. I used a Fel-Pro top of the line steel/rubber molded gaskets, the steel in the rubber mold is one continuous piece not just around the bolt holes like the FoMoCo one is. And Fel-Pro has nice
plastic screw in gasket holders, once oil pan is in place, with a majority of the bolts started, the holders could be unscrewed out!
Also, this is the original engine and original dipstick, and Ford says to put in 6quarts of engine oil (with filter changed, which I alway do), but the oil level reading on the stick (after engine has been started), is always way over the full mark (approximately like a quart to much).
Does anybody with same year truck, and engine have/had the same problems as this, that could offer any advice on this.
Thanks NOR289
