Hey ! Had a look at a different 92 today (accidentally bought it while I was there) - the place you have a bolt, it has a bolt. Much shorter than yours, but a bolt.

Hahaha awesome. I thought I was an idiot! Maybe I am but a smart one at that! Thanks Chris! What did you end up getting spec wise?

92 Flareside 2wd, 302 auto. Some rust into the cab and fenders and who knows where else yet, but I figure the motor might be a good one for one of my son's truck - 108,000 kilometers, I think that comes out at about 67,000 miles. And there's some real nice parts on it I can sell off, so maybe get the motor free - or at least dam cheap !

1992 F150 Flareside

He didn't want too much, he had to get it moved from the parking lot at work, so... next thing I knew I just bought it. Now I gotta figure out where I'm going to park it till I can yank the good pieces off it.

Don't know if you got that running but it's worth a mention - you have to have the steel distributor gear off the 96 distributor. But you probably already knew that.

Hey Chris,
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. From your last post "you have to have the steel distributor gear off the 96 distributor." Are you saying that my 1992 distributor gear will not work with the 96 cam? It seems to fit fine and fire

Roller cam requires a machined steel gear. The cast gear is for a flat tappet cam.

So the cam I am using is roller and is the original cam from the 96HO which I had a stage 2 RV grind done. Thus, I'm assuming I can use the orginal distributor in because the gear part that drives the distributor wasn't altered. Does this make sense? Appreciate your feed back.

Also, I'm pretty sure the distributors are the same from 92-96 but I could be wrong.
