1989 5.8 loses power and stalls when warm
my 1989 fi50 with a 5.8 will lose power and stall when it warms up. runs fine when first started. the check engine light is on at idle but goes off when gas is pushed. I have replaced fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator and verified that all fuel pumps are working. please help me narrow this down.

Look inside UR ignition, if ok take compression tests and look inside UR heads. The light may be internal or external caused by slow idle. Check Ur battery connections etc. Maybe fuel management is poor. EGR?

had same problem on my buddies truck, same year and engine as yours. I got under his truck and found cat. converter was cherry red! We removed converter and truck ran fine. Check to see if your converter is plugged.
his truck had 110,000 mi on it.
