So my 86 with a fuel injected 302 and T19 has a problem when warm. It has an extremely high idle to the point where in 4th it will cruise at about 30. Sometimes I can bump the throttle and it will slowly come down but other times it will make it race faster. I've cleaned the throttle body with no change. When it has been racing I've unplugged the IAC and it will calm down and die. I have checked a different known good IAC with the same problems.
Shutting the truck off will bring the idle back down on startup until I hit the throttle again. Any thoughts? Could the coolant temp sensor affect it this much?
