Default 1979 F150 302 Cutting Power

I have been tinkering with my recently purchased 79 f150. It used to have a hesitation when you first press the gas, after that it was fine. However a few days ago I gave her a good amount of gas and accelerated fairly quickly, after I let off the gas the hesitation was gone. But now if you just barely press on the throttle any more than about a quarter throttle the engine just loses all power and doesn't sound right. Is this a fuel starvation issue or what? The carb is brand new and I replaced the egr gasket and it idles extremely smooth, but it you give it some gas it just doesnt wanna go. Any ideas? Thanks.

Accelerator pump ? It should squirt a big blast of fuel when you push the throttle. Otherwise you get a hesitation when you accelerate. The regular fuel supply has to catch up to the sudden increase in air.
