Not really an argument. I usually put relay/solenoid but this time I only put one and of course someone came in and said its the other. Pretty much ended there.

Since you did the Starter it should be fine, along with the battery and the cables. Test the relay and also inline fuse links ( 3) ? If all good loosen the starter and wiggle it or take it out and use a large screwdriver and move the starter ring gear some. It may be rounded off teeth locking things up. Look in 3 spots on the ring gear for damage with a good flash light.

You may not have all the cables hooked up correctly. One hanging loose ?

Talking problem solved.

i found a ground wire tied into the pos lead on the starter, i think the person who had the truck before me did it. and when i cleaned the ned lead on the battery post it made the problem worse. i also found the clutch engagement switch is jumped, so i think that is bad too. when i removed the neg lead to the starter it cranked right over like a champ. i dont know why they did that but it was a pain in the ***. LOL thank for all your help everyone i really appreciate it.

Question is it a manual or auto? I could be the neutral safety switch on theauto or the clutch position sensor if it is a manual I would also check the pedallinkage under the dash there are nylon busing and if that deforms that maycause a no start to.
