Why get a V6?
Hello guys... New to forum and have a question I've been pondering before buying a 2000 - 2004 Ford.
If the difference in gas mileage between a 6 and 8 is only a mile or two per gallon, what exactly IS the advantage of a V6?
Are the easier to work on? Or is the engine bay still relatively full?
Thanks!

I looked at the V6 briefly, for what I would lose it just wasn't worth it
Looked at used trucks, wasn't much more at the time to buy new
Looked at smaller trucks, difference in gas mileage & what I would lose in hauling/load wasn't worth it
I expected to keep my truck a long time, have a Jetski
Figured I might get a TT at some point.....figured I'd buy the truck I want
9 years later I don't regret it at all

i have the 4.2 v6 had it for 3 years now i like it. i get 14ish mpg average. so not great but i also have 285's on. one thing is if you do get the v6 and try to get bigger tires be ware. the 3.55 i have on now are almost now enough to make it worth the bigger tires. really felt a power loss. but the engine bay is wide open alot of room to get around and add goodies
