Default Water pump trouble

Hi! I m new to this forum and would like some help. I have a 95 f150 w/ 4.9L 300. I replaced my water pump today(or tried to anyway) I put everything back in place like it should be and when I filled up the radiator, the water pump started leaking from the bottom area. Kinda hard to see exactly where. Any ideas what could be the issue?

Yes I put all the bolts back in. I'm hoping it's just a bad gasket or bad gasket install job as 77ranger suggested. Thanks for the replies guys

If the water pump is leaking out of the 'weep' hole, the new water pump you bought is bad. If it is leaking from the 'gasket', you messed something up installing it

I figured it out. It actually wasn't the water pump. I accidentally tightened the bolts on the thermostat housing a little too tight. Cracked along the bottom of the housing, which made it look like it was coming from the bottom of the water pump because of the way it dripped down.

It happens. That reminds me that I need to replace my torque wrench.

It would probably be a good idea for me to get a good torque wrench.

If it were me, I'd probably go for one of those Craftsman micro clickers in 3/8 and 1/2" drive. The Harbor Freight ones are garbage, and of course Snapon is way overpriced.
