Default Trying to improve mpg

i have a 95, straight 6, 5 speed manual, 2 wheel drive, with a 6" lift that gets 10 mpg. I'm obviously trying to improve mpg. So far I have installed msd high output ignition coil, new O2 sensor, Coolant temperature sensor. I heard that a timing bump will help alot and was wondering what I should set it to to get better milage.

I will soon be replacing the spark plugs, cables, distributor cap, and rotor. Looking for suggestions on these as well.

Plain motorcraft or autolite copper plugs work better in our trucks than the plats do.

And here's everything you'll need to know about the timing bump.

I bumped mine to 12 deg BTDC and gapped the Autolite copper plugs at .050. I kept the original coil and changed the wires to Taylor low resistance spirial core. My truck gets about 16.5 Mpg overall with a best of 20 Mpg at 60 Mph. At a steady 70 -75 I get about 18. I do have a dash mounted Vacuum gauge.
BTW the 6 inch lift isn't going to help your Mpg either do my BFG 31" ATs help mine. The big restriction in the 300 is the heads followed by the exhaust. While the K&N flows more air it also doesn't filter as well. At least they are reusable. Be careful not to over oil it when cleaning. The stock 300 system is a CAI.
