Default Trailer Hitching

New to forum. My 87 F150( 89k miles), W/ 4.9, 4spd manual gives me the impression that I am pulling a heavy trailer. While cruising I feel a tugging sensation at times (misfire?). The idle is also rough. I have done a full tune up including plugs, wires, cap, rotor and gas filter which collectively did not help. This happens if the engine is hot or cold. I did check fuel pressure and it is steady at 40 psi. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Hey raski,

Welcome to the F150 forum. Lots of help here!!

After all you've done, next stop is the TPS. As well, and even at only 89k, I'd be replacing both the IAC and the TPS with a good throttle body cleaning.

Hi Chap150. I forgot to mention that I did test the TPS with an analog ohm meter. I slowly moved the throttle while observing the meter and I had no "dead spots". I did not do anything with the IAC because the screws were turning very hard and I feared breaking them off, so I snugged them back again.
