Default Rpm gauge troubles

1994 f150 single cab, 4.9 manual dual tanks

Put a tach on it yesterday and it didn't start. Played with the wires and it starts but dies over potholes and such. Could the pin in the connector to the coil be loose? Any hints on how to get that off. The wires were soldered an I've checked them there strong. Could my tach be stealing all the energy?

Nevermind, it was the connector. Fixed it myself. What a helpful forum. (Sarcasm)

Thankyou. I hope one day, in the very distant future, you can find yours also.
