Default Gearing, and 0-60

Hey guys,

Jut wondering what the 0-60 is for you guys running either a 5 speed or auto and have a 3:55. 3:73, or higher., because 0-60 in a 3:08 is not fun...

Yea that blows goats man. I had a 3.08 in my first truck with the 4.6L. Great on the highway and decent passing when you could catch the end of 2nd gear. It's a catch 22. Yes the shorter gear will get rolling quicker but if you dont know how to launch you will spin through the .2 or .3 second advantage you would gain by moving to the shorter gear. If you are pulling a load on a regular basis then it may be worth the $500 +/- for a new set of gears to be installed (plan to pay someone unless you have the tools and experience around vehicles with regard to tolerances).

I have a 2012 5.0 with 3.31 and my best 0-60 to date is 6.4 on the chronograph. The truck is running a 93 octane diablo performance tune. everything else is stock.
