Default Rebuilding 89 300 to replace 302....suggestions??

I recently bought a 88 f150 302 4x4 4speed with 3.55 gears. 167xxx on original 302 but has no oil pressure at idle and about 6-8 psi at 2200 rpm. Runs good a little histation pulling off at low rpm. Ifl feel it has been neglected so rather than attempting to do a quick rebild and then finding more problems I have gotten a 300 i6 for next to nothing it already has a small cam and rods from what the precious owner said. I have known him for years so I know he is honest but he is unable to remember what cam it was except it was eci friendly. The valve cover it is pulled and some of the head bolts have been loosen he said he was going to pull the head then decided not to halfway through.

I plan to re-ring it, hone the cylinders, new oil pump, and install a new gasket set so far.

My question is what else could I do to help with performance? Is there and parts from my 302 that would interchange that would help? I have heard of people using the 19 lb injectors from the v8s and the throttle bodies from the v8s on the 300s. I don't want to go carb I want to keep the fuel injection. I already have a set of long tube headers and plan on a full open dual exhaust system.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated to help performance and things to watch for in the rebuild.

I'm sure gonna miss my v8 sound but can't wait to feel the low end torque of the 300s.

skip the headers, the fuel injected split manifolds will flow well and not cause leaks and heat issues like headers. the 4.9 doesnt really need them. the 3.55 gearing should work well unless you are going to bigger tires then you may need lower gearing.
you likely wont need the injectors until you get bigger in cams...but pocket porting the head will give biggest gains. there are bad ridges right by the valve seats.
