Need a Mechanic or Tech's opinion...
So considering that the 3.5L Ecoboost engine is designed by Ford with a high compression tolerance and a number of features shared by the Ford diesel engines...
Based on it's design, is there any possibility of there ever being a conversion to run the Ecoboost twin turbo 3.5L on diesel ?.....
I know they have a conversion already for Natural Gas - but thats fairly common, but Diesel..... now there's a what if....
Opinions ?

Gas blocks and diesel blocks metallurgy are totally different. The aluminum block of the Eco just wouldn't stand up to the conversion vs. the graphite block used in diesel. Ford has the 3.2L diesel coming to North America so I would look more to a swap than a costly and almost impossible conversion.
