Bleche wite tire cleaner and a scrub brush for the plastics and hoses, and no touch tire foam. It would be a good time to check over your hoses etc.

Warm engine and simple green and good water pressure! Has always done the trick for me!

Are there things I shouldn't spray with the hose? (i.e. alternator, distributor, etc.)

As long as the engine isn't hot and you don't get right up next to the distributor you'll be fine
