Thanks...I'll have to try this either later tonight or tomorrow. Have to go to work. I'll let you you know.

Well I wasn't able to pull the vacuum line off the pressure regulator. It was on there pretty good, plus it 20 degrees outside, so I really couldn't feel my hands. I'll have to try again another day.

One interesting thing happened though. I let the truck die when I was trying to remove the damn vacuum line. The pressure never dropped below 20 psi and it still cut out and died...like the engine was getting zero gas. Makes me the think the regulator is bad.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Don

Ok, so I was finally able to get the vacuum line off the fuel pressure regulator. When I pulled it the truck didn't seem to change. The pressure was already dropping slowly and it continued to do so at the same rate. Plus there was no fuel in the line.

Seems like this is pretty clear based on your checks that the fuel pump needs to be replaced. I'm going to order one tonight and then replace it when it comes in. I going to order the high pressure external pump. I guess if I am still having issues I replace the low pressure in the tank pump. Unless anyone knows a way to tell which one is faulty.

Thanks,
Don

With what your telling me its the high presure pump the truck want run with the low pressure
Pump alone. If it was mine I'd change the high pressure pump and make sure you have a good Fuel filter on the truck too. Good luck

Well finally the weather was warm enough for me to change everything out. I removed the old high pressure pump and put in the new one. But no luck. I removed the fuel line before the fuel pump was not getting any fuel. I heard the new pump sucking so it seems like it's working. I think it's the pump in my tank

Thoughts?

Man i hate to hear that, can you hear any noise out of the back pump? Check to see if you have power going to the back pump? If you have power to the pump its probable bad.

Well I was finally able to replace the pump in the tank over the weekend. And it worked, the truck fired over and ran well. Very thankful for your help!

I do have a weird thing now though. The 'Check Engine' light is now off but my truck has an 'Engine' light that is still on. I checked to see if any codes were available, but there weren't any. Not sure what can cause it.

Again, thanks for all the help.
