1995 4.9 Top Radiator Hose Sucked Flat
I am looking into buying a 1995 F150 with a 300 I6 and a 5 speed. I test drove it today and it did fine. No missing, sputtering, or overheating. When I got back I noticed that the top Radiator hose was flat. The guy said it needed a thermostat but I'm not sure. I checked the oil and there wasn't any water in it. I'm just curious what could be causing this because I really like the truck and it's a good deal but I do not want to get myself in a mechanical nightmare. I posted this in another forum and someone said it could be the radiator cap. I just want any ideas or anyone who has had this problem before. Thanks, Austin.

Flat top hose
I have a 94 f-150 and that happened 2 me last week.I have a 300 -6 cyl. It was not over heating but i pulled the cap off and rad was full of brown junk . we pulled the rad and cleaned it and now temp does not go up past cold mark , where it was running mid way before. Hose is not collapsing any more , hope that helps...

Thanks everyone for the replies. Popped on a new rad cap and it fixed it right up. Also found a small leak in the radiator so I changed it and everything seems to be working great now.
