Default 1988 I6 transmission help

Truck drove great for two weeks. Then it began losing it's power, I have to put it to the floor to get up to speed. Eats gas this way and.potentially dangerous. Checked all I know to check, can't pull codes as the connectors aren't where everyone says they are. No one else has found it either so idk. The engine sounds alright far as I can tell, idles a bit high but that's fine. The transmission from day one was really loud coming through second and third. Now it's sounding normal but no acceleration. Twice in a.month the truck returned to running.normal and the noise came back. Shut it off came back later it sucks again. Could it be that when running.properly it's just turning more, or do y'all think this problem could be transmission related? When I'm stopped and let out the clutch it tries to die without jumping much so I think it's letting out properly. I've been to the end of Google and back with no luck. If I know what I need to checking/repairing/replacing I can usually do it myself but I'm in the dark on what this could be.

Check codes. The plugs are there. If they aren't get a wiring harness. Fix what's broke.
