Default XB Led Halos

Anyone else have issues with the XB led Halos from the retrofit source? I've had them for little over 6 months and now one barely lights up half and it is super dim. I spoke with a rep there & it should be under warranty. I switched the headlights hoping it was just the in-line driver or wiring one the one side of my truck. No luck. Halo does the same thing when I swap.

Any suggestions? Or do you guys think its the halo itself? I really, really do not want to open the headlights back up & take the whole projector apart to replace the halo.

I did, they worked fine before I sealed up my headlights.

Mine did the same. Died a slow death over 6 months. Both sides did the same.

In my 1st set of retros, both sides were slowly getting dimmer as individual LEDs would no longer work. I thought LEDs were supposed to be rugged and long lasting. What's up?

It's a well known "trait" of the TRS LED halos.
I thought the current gen was supposed to be better?

It is super annoying....I can tell you that. Waste of $50 and hope that they had fixed the bugs on these new ones.

I did some swapping and testing and it's not the drivers outside the housing. It is the the halo ring itself. I have been working with TRS and think they're going to take care of me......with that being said, I don't know how bad I really want to open up my headlights/cut the JB weld & re-align everything again. Especially if the problem is just going to happen 6 more months down the road.

I currently unhooked both halos so it doesn't look stupid for the time being. Uncertain what I will end up doing.

I wasn't willing to roll the dice. I pulled out the drivers and cut my losses.

Default Too much heat?

Just some additional thoughts here. Bil uses these halos in the foglights as well as the shrouds in the headlights. My problems have all been in the shrouds and not the foglights. I have not had a failure with a "Bil" installed halo yet. My failure occurred from another retro guy here in Houston but I purchased the halos from TRS.

Perhaps the heat buildup being behind the shrouds in the headlights is causing premature failure. I never ran my LED foglights with the led rings as much as I did the headlights only the rings are lit with the parking lights on. Heat could be the culprit.

MAH, that very well could be the issue....it should be a major concern for TRS. LEDS,CCFL & accents are trending themes in current vehicles lighting. I will let you all know where I get with TRS or what I decide to do.
