Default Westin Off Road Light Wiring

Is it worth the trouble to wire these to a new switch or just piggyback off the fog lights?

What model Westin lights are they? When do you want them to be on? Do you plan to power them with the foglight circuit (not advisable) or just use the foglight circuit to switch a relay to fire them up?

I suppose by asking your questions, I answered my own. I would like them on only when needed and not just with the fog lights. That would mean the relay and a separate toggle switch on the dash. What is the best spot to get the signal from for the relay?

Do you want to be able to turn them on anytime? Or just when the key is in acc or on? What year is your truck?

Just when it's on is fine. It's an 06.

I would just use an add-a-fuse in the passenger side fuse compartment for the switched signal to the relay. Do you have access to a multimeter or test light? If there are spare fuse locations you should check for voltage at any of those first. If nothing is available there, you just need to look at the descriptions of the fuses in your fuse box and try to find one that's only on when the key is in the acc or on position.
