Default Upgrading the factory head light bulbs

I have been reading the countless head light post and I dont see what i am looking for. I have stock head lights in the 2005 Ford F150 right now. I actually would like to just replace the bulbs with a much better bulb, something brighter and maybe blue. Can anyone tell me what lights( on Ebay) are a much better alternative than what i am running now rather than swap out complete stock lights with projector lights or the HID kits I keep reading. Explain the differences for me please.

Sylvania makes the Silverstar line that seems to be the most popular bulb upgrade. I know Autozone or Advance Auto Parts carries them and possibly Wal-Mart. Anyways it's defiantly worth it, i have Silverstar replacements on my truck (headlights and fogs) and the light shines farther, wider, and much whiter! (no more yellowish glow like factory bulbs)

btw blue lights are around, idk where you might get them but they are out there. And the thing with the HID's is you need to buy a converter which is probably the most expensive part. A lot of guys say it looks better but IMO if you need that much light go with a light bar with a few nice KC's or something.

Thank you for the info, does anyone else have some feedback as well?

A bulb with a 5k rating will give you a blue light output. I tried them and felt that the light output was pretty weak. The easiest way to go is to buy the Silverstar Ultras. If you pick them up on E-bay you should be able to get them for about $25 shipped. About 1/2 the price than auto parts stores.

A quality 5000k HID kit will be much brighter than any halogen bulb. I've tried Silverstars and wasn't that impressed. Go to the Vendor Showcase section of the forum and check out some of the HID guys.

Hey everyone- Silver Star Ultra H13s are available now. I just picked up a pair at Advance Auto Parts. They had 2 packages left.
