Default Ultimate A-Pillar / Ditch Light Guide

One of the most popular lighting upgrades we get requests for are ditch lights, or lights that mount near the front A Pillar in the lower corners of the windshield. Weve put together a list of the most popular ditch light options that we get requests for, as well as a few new ideas you may not have seen. We highly recommend the CBI Offroad line of products, including their ditch light mounts that we offer for $49 with the purchase of any light set.

A traditional ditch light would mount with around a 45 degree outward angle and feature some type of flood light to, well light up ditches. Most of our customers are using them with a forward facing light - for this application we recommend tighter spot & extreme spot lights for maximum effectiveness at this mounting height, as well as to avoid light splash onto the hood.

CBI Ditch Light Bracket for 2010+ Raptor

Without a doubt our most popular combination is the Vision X 4.5" Light Cannon set Only $330 delivered! We will beat any price on VX (CTL-CPZ110KIT) on a set of CBI Ditch Brackets. The round light look is clean.

If you like the round light look but would like something a little larger, or want a throwback look, be sure to check out the new 40w KC Hilites Pro-Sport Gravity 6" LED lights (KC Part Number 643 - Spot Pair) with included oldschool KC light guards.

Speaking of KC Hilites, we saw their new FLEX LED system setup as a ditch-light on their Raptor. This new pair of dual 10w spot leds puts out a ton of light for the size and has a look like nothing else on the market. The anodized light bezels come in a variety of colors for a custom look. Youll need 2x Part Number KC 271, to get this look.

There isnt an LED light thread out there that doesnt mention the Rigid Industries brand and they have an array of options that work great in this position. If you like the size of the standard 2x2 dually, check out Rigids new Dually D2 Hyperspot which has a super tight, 5 degree beam for maximum distance in the ditch light position. Part number 50741 gets you a pair of the Rigid Hyperspot

Rigid Industries recently upped the LED cube game by releasing the bigger, badder brother to the Dually, the new Dually XL! Rigid 32241 is a pair of the above mentioned Hyperspot optic in a more powerful housing that is the optimum size for this location.

Leading the game in lighting technology in addition to Rigid is another US manufacturer based in San Diego - Baja Designs! These guys have been around for awhile now and are the number one choice among top offroad racers, sponsored or not! These are the most durable and longest lasting lights we offer - rated at IP69K with IK10 impact testing, used by the military / US Customs with ratings far exceeding the MIL-STD810G mil spec requirements.

Their smaller option for the F150 a-pillar mounts would be the 3x3 Squadron Sport SPOT Pair (PN 55-7801) @ 1800 lumens (Equal to a standard dually, but with much better optics that rival the Rigid hyperspot) or the Squadron Pro which pumps out an insane 4300 lumens (Pair Part Number 49-7801)

To get even more light down range, Baja Designs offers the XL Sport (Spot Pair PN 56-7801) / XL-R Sport (Spot Pair PN 57-7801) & XL Pro (HS Spot Pair PN 50-7801) / XL-R Pro (HS Spot PN 53-7809) models. The XL or XL-R (Round face) put out the light of an 8" HID with the smooth spread of an LED. With 4900 lumens per light, this is the brightest offroad LED light system this size on the market by far.

Hella is a name that is well known in the racing and rally world. Their new Rallye 4000x 40w LED System is a super compact package pumping out a decent amount of light for the size. Its got a little wide of a pattern but has a pretty nice beam. Youll need 2x 012206021

Hopefully this gives you all some ideas as to what options are out there for this popular light mounting location. We are here to answer any questions you may have! Shoot us an email at Info@TotalAutoParts.net or PM us.
