Tails to LED
Hey guys I have a 2009 f150. I'm going to be replacing my light bulbs in my tails to Led's in the next couple of days. I have also purchased the load resistors so I don't get the hyper flash. I just don't know what color to tie into, the resistor ties into the ground and the turn signal wire, just not sure which that is. Just want to be ready when I do tear it apart. Thanks

1. Get a cheap test light from auto parts store.
2. Take the tail lamps out of truck.
3. Put your hazard flasher on.
4. Use test light to determine which wire makes your test light blink.
5. Ground test light to the wire that is hot and probe the other wires, when you make your test light blink, you found ground.
6. Drink a beer in satisfaction because you now know what wire's are the blinker and ground wires.

Well I installed the led's but there's an issue. They work great when you don't have the lights on, but as soon as you turn the headlights on you really can't tell if they are blinking. It's like they are at 90% brightness with the lights on, and when you turn the blinker on you get the other 10%.... it barely blinks?? Is there a dual brightness led out there or what??

Not sure if this is what you mean, but there are "special" brake/turn signal LEDs that have a bunch of SMDs on them - about half are lit as driving lights, and when you hit the brakes or use your turn signal, the others come on too. This is what makes it "dual-duty."
