Chive So Hard
Yessir. I just took the housings out of the bumper, removed the stock fog light, drilled a hole int he top to mount the cube to, ran the wires out the back and wired them straight into the foglight wiring. took maybe 15 minutes.

I travel along a road within 300' of the Mississippi River going to work at 3am. It's can get very very foggy.
I have a 2013 with factory HID headlights. I put 3000K HIDs in the stock fog housings. I also have Hella HID driving lights in my bumper with 3000K bulbs in them as well.
In the thickest fog I have ever driven in I turned my headlights off and kept only the 4 3000K lights on an could see A LOT further than I could with the 3000K lights on AND my factory HIDs!
The headlights just seamed to cause tons of glare shine back at me.

That is a very interesting read! It actually made me doubt myself. But in the end no matter what scientifically works better, all I know is my eyes see that yellow light works better in rain and fog.

I also have 3000k fog bulbs in my stock FOG housings and love this setup for what they are intended to do, see better in fog, snow and even rainy conditions.
We drive a lot after midnight here in Southern Indiana and I think the stock HIDs do a decent job of providing enough light for this old man to see well enough. it is when the conditions are bad is when I need the help and when things are the most dangerous and nothing cuts through fog like those 3000k bulbs.
I don't run my fogs in town and on clear nights, don't need them and don't need to endanger myself by possibly upsetting oncoming drivers.

To me that explains why NO manufactures have HID in the fogs. And in 24hr road racing, yellow headlights are used!

Mine are on 100% of the time when my heads are on. The aimed to not affect other drivers. As great as HIDs are they(HIDs) in general SUCK in bad weather.

I just generally don't use mine unless the conditions are warrant them especially in town.

I know this one and others have proven that yellow fogs don't really cut through fog any better its more how our eyes perceive the colors.
But in a totally non scientific study my FX4 has 3000k hid fogs and my '12 Lariat has 5000k hid fogs and to me and my 47 year old eyes the 3000k bulbs seem to be easier to see.
It is probably a false sense I am getting and since I am a retired State Police Officer I really slow down according to weather conditions anyhow but I do prefer the 3000k.
