I just bought a set yesterday. Went with the halogen models with the h7 HID conversion (opposed to the stock hid setup with stock bulbs and ballasts using a conversion harness).

I ended up over at protuninglabs.com and got the whole kit for 400 bucks. I don't think I'll bother with the led bulbs since I will already have the hids. But I'll try to do a little before and after when I get them.

The rubber boot isn't sealed it pops right off, you will have to get the h7 version of led bulb and the extension they sell you'll snip the 2 wires coming from the socket from the current h7 bulb and the extension kit from 4x4truckled.com will come with splices and silicone because you'll have to take a sharp knife and make a small slit from the two wire holes to get the ballast plug through your boot then silicone around that and push the boot back on, the light output is at least double from stock but i did have to adjust the beans because my truck is lifted

It sounds scary but it literally takes 10 mins per side and its very easy, snip 2 wires and use the butt splice connectors it comes with... Very Very worth it and also get the fog light bulbs from them they are as bright as stock headlights and very amazing! 4x4truckled.com is great people and products

Nice, did you need to use a resistor with them?

Yes to get rid of hyperflashing you'll need resistors

there's tons of H7 HID bulbs out there. Morimoto, yeaky, etc.

Anyway, I have a variant of this headlight and SUPPOSEDLY they use Koito Q5 style projectors, according to manufacturer i talked to in china, and there are some decent Q5 clones out there in the chinaverse.

Anyway, I put HIDs in mine and they perform pretty well. Definitely looks like the optics are designed for HID and not for halogen.
