Default spyder projectors + HID?

I was looking at these headlights from spyder, the single bulb projectors with the c bar light : Spyder Auto PRO-YD-FF15009-LBDRL-BK

Then I noticed they don't use the standard 9008/H13 bulb but instead use a H7 bulb.

This kinda threw my plans of grabbing a diode dynamics HID upgrade kit that fits the stock h13. Looking around I don't see any HID H7 bulbs, just leds.

So questions are; is this headlight any good? can I do a HID setup with it or am I stuck going to leds? Are leds as good as a HID in a projector?

From the little I've seen, I thought the leds were nice and white looking but not as much light output as a real HID setup. Am I right?

Ok so I've been doing a little more digging and I guess I was wrong about HID>LED.

So the problem with LED is the glare, but I think the projector housing solves this issue?

So I could do this :

and add these with the H7:

and I would be good to go right?

I asked a similar question down in the 09-14 section, doesn't look like anyone knows the answer. Looks like this mod works if it's for those 2015+ lights with minor adjustments though...

I guess I might have to be the guinea pig then and just go for it. It's a lot of money so I hope it all works out.
maybe I'll call one of the led companies first and see if they have any info.

Did you end up buying it? I'm looking to do the same thing.

Could you take a picture of the light output on the road and also how to change the bulbs on the headlights. Mine has a really big gasket on the back. I assume that's where the headlights come out.

4X4 TruckLEDS and I have been conversing regarding this exact issue. You might wanna check them out

I too like the DRL C-style housings that Spyder makes (I'd go w the smoked ones).

My 13 has the crappy OEM Halogens; I plan on purchasing the Projector housings, and placing their LED system into it. (http://www.4x4truckleds.com/xhp50-se...ord-f-150-h13/)

All my research looks like this will be a great result.
