Here's another newbie question for ya...about how much are these bulbs? And can I get a set for my fogs?

What would be the lumens on the factory halogen and factory hid's (compared to the led with 4000 Lumens).
Thanks

The question to be asked and answered is...what is objective to bulb changes?

If its to see clearer brighter and farther then HIDs are clearly the choice.
LEDs do not yet come close to the HIDs for performance lighting.

If you want super bright light right in front of you to make your truck look like something from star trek then the LEDs will certainly fill that need.

If you have stock non-HID housings and are looking for a good bulb that will provide good clean lighting both distance and side to side my recommendation is a PIAA Extreme Plus...about $90 a set and gives good clean light.

I personally do not like LED lights, seems everyone has their own do-it-yourself LED retro kit going on and most of them are burning the retinas off most motorists on the highways at night.

X2, and this is exactly why I've been asking for output shots against a wall. It'd confirm or refute some claims about how the light scatters.

I don't see how the led's in the halogen housings can't scatter light, that is how the reflector bowl is made and designed to do, putting in a brighter lamp either halogen, HID or led seems to me it's going to be the same only brighter than stock which is why they use the low lumen halogen bulbs to begin with, just bright enough to keep you from crashing but not so bright to blind oncoming traffic.

I would however be curious to see if they could be a direct replacement for D3S HID bulbs in a projector housing and comparison lumens that way.

Again, I agree. I was really just hoping to put some photos against the words so I didn't come across as "one of those retrofit fanatics."

Evidence vs. Claims, ya know?
