The more I look at it the more option #2 looks good to me too.
Now to figure out how to measure to ensure they are both equal and centered.
I guess I can use my sensors as a reference point and then make sure there is equal height between top trim and bottom of the bumper.

I'm putting my square flush mounts in this position #2 you speak of. Want to wash the car trailer more as well as get away from blinding the rearview camera.

They will look good and as you said give more broad lighting to see verses blinding the camera. As a side not I also added a loc-pic last year. Its an adapter that goes behind the radio and ties into factory wiring.
It allows me to view the rear view camera regardless of what gear I am in. I can turn it on and watch my jet ski trailer while driving 80 mpg down the hwy to ensure they are still on the trailer.
This with lighting I can turn on while driving from a switch allows me to see my load at any speed and anytime of day or night.

Thanks to all my friends who provided their input on where to mount my rigid SRQ2 lights.
I decided on basically the #2 option.
I used an air 3" cutting wheel and jig saw. The jig saw actually worked easiest after drilling 4 1/2" holes in each corner of the square I was cutting out.
Luckily the tape protected the bumper paint as I was using the saws.

After deburring the holes I painted with several coats of paint all around the freshly cut edge of the hole. There is no exposed metal to rust in the future.
I then layer the edge with silicon to add even another layer of sealer over the fresh cuts.
Mounted my lights and used my Dually flood back-up light harness for the SRQ2 lights. I then moved my Dually flood's up to the factory fog location and tapped into the factory harness using a female 9006 to Rigid adapter I made.
All turned out great in my opinion.

I will say the diffused SRQ2 put out a ton of ambient lighting in the rear. I can see ants crawling on my driveway behind my truck in the camera with these lights.
The Dually's worked well too but the light was too focused with the flood pattern. These diffused disperse the light much better and don't blind the camera at all.

I really like the idea of being integrated into the bumper verses hanging down somewhere asking to get torn off. This option looks more finished than just mounting lights to hang down somewhere.

I didn't take any night shots as its just too bright for my camera to pick-up.

Also the angle is deceiving, the lights are exactly 4.5" from the sensor as well as the center plastic trip piece, perfectly centered.

Did you put them on a Switch, or tap into your Reverse lights? How about some nite shots when you get time?

Finally took a few night shots to show how well these lights work.
I did tap into the reverse wire from the trailer plug and also installed a lighted rocker switch in the cab.
They auto on whenever I put it in reverse but can also manually switch them on from the switch. I wanted a switch to ward off tailgaters on the hwy or if I just needed some rear lighting when parked without having to have the truck in gear in reverse.

Here you can sort of see how much these light up behind you. I really like how they light up the whole area behind the truck. And before one of you jokers makes a comment, the dent in the pole is from my jet ski trailer, not from having poor back-up light before the install. ha ha



Here is the back-up camera with only factory lights on. The picture makes it not look too dark but as you all know most times the rear view is very dark and hard to see with only factory reverse bulbs from the tails.


This is what I get to enjoy now whenever I throw it in reverse. This is with the SRQ2 Rigid lights.


Here are the switches I installed. They control the reverse lights and the 30" SR Rigid light bar in installed in the grill. The Rigid Dually's in factory fog location run off the factory fog switch so no extra switch for those.
