Default Rigid DOT Fogs with Stock Wiring ???

Just received lights and brackets and going to install them this weekend in place of the stock fogs. I believe the Rigids have less draw and as long as I am fine with using the stock switch settings (fogs on low beam only) is there any reason I can't just use the stock wiring and replace the stock plug with a waterproof plug ?

As long as you're ok with the stock function, there's no reason you can't use the stock wiring. As you said, the Rigids draw less than the OEM fogs did, so the wiring is perfectly adequate for the new lights.

Any update on how they turned out? I'm wanting to do the same thing!

It's 100% plug and play with a set of these:

I installed SAE Rigid Duallys in January of 2015 with these and they work flawlessly to date.

Those are a great way to install fog lights without having to cut anything, but those look a little underwhelming (although they probably work fine) MRT sells them for a little less at $28 delivered, and they are Made in the USA and have two layers of outer protection - a must if you offroad or mud at all.

Check them out here!

Those do look better! 18 months ago all that was available was the Starkey kit. Good to know there is another solution.

I just posted a thread asking anyone if they've PROPERLY mounted square fogs into the factory openings. I'm looking at the rigid 46527 brackets but haven't seen anything about how to install them. Can you help?!?

That mount is for the 2006-2014 F-150 trucks only and should look like this:

That's the end result, yes. I haven't seen anything that shows how the mount attaches to the fog light housing, or how the lights attach to the mount.
