Default retrofit question for ebay projector housings

So I found a set of housings during my nightly scour of eBay for inexpensive oem HID housings and I come across these:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Exclusive-2009-2013-Ford-F150-D3S-HID-Black-LED-Halo-DRL-Projector-Headlights-/171476051310?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2014%7CMake%3AFord%7CModel%3AF-150&hash=item27ecc4e56e&vxp=mtr

These look to be easy enough to take apart and throw some EvoXR's in, maybe some led's behind the reflector on the side for visibility. I was just wondering if anyone's seen these before, or if anyone has any recommendations of how to go about doing something to these. OPEN TO IDEAS PEOPLE!

Never seen those before but interested to see what you come up with.

Those light bars look very wide in the pic. Perhaps it is just poor quality pic.

I was looking at these also.

The light bar is very wide, and it's not the light pipe we've seen retrofitted in as of late, it's a plastic diffuser with what I imagine are led bulbs spaced out behind it. Could even be an SMD plate but I doubt it.

The projector is most likely a off brand Mini H1, so you could easily get a Morimoto Mini H1 in there - or with some work, a larger projector.

The posting does say it uses a D3S bulb, so the current size should be similar to the 2014 OEM housings. TBH, the light bars are grating on me, but if I'm opening them up anyway, I could alter them, or get rid of them altogether. $450 for a set of housings doesn't seem too bad imho, but I'll keep looking for OEM housings in the meantime.
