Default Resistors for LED tails

I just installed LED tails, reverse, blinker in my 2016 f150. I noticed the resistor getting really hot really quick. Is this gonna be an issue? Where is everyone mounting their resistors?

F150 leds for the bulbs and it's just the resistors they send with them. So not sure of any rating on the resistors.....

You may have issues with those LED's as they use some cheap ones...

the resistors are SUPPOSED to get hot. Most of us used some self tapping screws (1 is sufficient) and mounted it right to the back of the cavity in the taillight area... away from touching any wires.

Thanks for the input, that's where I put them with some 3m double sided tape for the time being, will go back this afternoon with a self tapper. So is my thinking right in saying that worse case scenario the resistor gets to hot and just blows and it stop working then the light goes out? Just don't want to see smoke or anything coming from back there hahaha.

Not sure what brand they use, I'm sure they are from China but they put out a very good light and look like some of the better quality ones I've seen. They have a 1 year warranty, base off of how these work will determine if I stick with them or end up getting some diodes.

The question was for 4x4 TruckLED's on their Brand.
He seems to know a lot about there products, reading all of his posts on both threads about F150Leds.

I've been using them for over a year on all my trucks without any problems and outstanding service.

I know a lot about their products because when I first bought my F-150 I bought almost everything they had for the F-150... and I had issues with products. The bulbs flickered and eventually I got water in my headlight housing. The LED bulbs I got I paid a lot of money for (the replacement bulbs) and once I got them I realized they were the same bulbs I can get for about $10-$15 online (anywhere online). I won't compare the LUMEN because even if you buy high quality bulbs, like Diode Dynamics, the lumens vary based on the product you buy.

I eventually took them out because I had one bulb fail and I didn't want to chance the rest. I replaced all (but my blinkers) and then just last week the blinkers failed (as I wrote in another thread) and swapped them out with Diode Dynamics.

Soo yeah... they have great customer service but they are just reselling really cheap bulbs at a premium price, which I felt was not right. I could make more if I sold those kind of LED's but I'd rather make less and sell a quality product.

I started my company actually because I had issues with their kits and wanted to come up with products that worked on Fords #1 (because I drive a Ford) and for ALL truck owners. I wanted to fix any problem that came up. If bulbs went bad... let's fix it so they stop going bad. If I couldn't get a bulb into a tight area... let me figure out a way to get it in there..

I purchased mine from CJPonyParts for the blinker, brake and turning signal and I have no issues at all. I just made sure the truck was out of transport mode (which should switch after the first 50 miles) to avoid hypersync (fast flashing inside).
