the 8000ks are quite blue..the higher you get, the bluer you get, the lower you get the yellower if it makes sence, as far as white goes 6000k is the brightest...it says that 35w is low beam and 50w is high beam, now before you go "thats not alot, some bulbs are 100w" yes they claim 100 watt but only put out what your truck does voltage wise....with the hid's its the balasts then the unit, it acts sort of like a speaker with an amp if u wanna use that anaology

crush a little car today
Switched the bulbs that came with my european style headlights to SilverStar bulbs. I put a $30 prewired harness in to operate them with direct battery voltage. It is like looking at the lights on without to with the engine running. This bypasses all the voltage drop gotten thru the headlight cuircuit.

I would recommend getting no higher than 6000k's for HID's in an F-150 unless you are going to change headlamp assy's and get a projector set-up.
The stock housings scatter too much light to be effective on higher kelvin temps...
I have the high/low kit in 35w and it is plenty....The high part is almost a waste of money as I have yet to use them.
50-55w hid kit and you will be getting attention of the authorities and blinding on coming traffic without using a projector set-up
