So I take it you soved the problem with the tranny/brake and it reset the computer after a bit of driving?
Mine I shouldn't have to disconnect the battery cause there is an extra set of threaded bolts on each battery terminal so I should be able to just loosen the nut and slip the connector over the end of it. I wasn't sure if disconnecting the battery was going to mean my computer/radio would need to reset itself but now its not an issue.
Previous vehicle (Trailblazer) if I needed to disconnect battery I plugged a portable battery pack into the cigarette lighter to keep power to the computer so I didn't have to visit the dealer to get my radio working afterwards. From what I understand its not an issue with the F150.

It looks good mounted in your bumper. I might still do the bumper mount but starting to lean to the behind the grill mount if it won't interfer with the hood too much.

yeah i think it fixed itself, im not sure if that was caused by the light or not (i doubt it). Maybe I just noticed it after the light i dont know.
Behind the grill should look cool if you can find a way to mount it, just wondering if the grill might disperse the light too much or reflect it in weird ways? keep us posted

Another option could be to the grill/hood itself but probably too heavy so the crossbar idea will probably be the way I do it.
When I do it I'll take pictures so I can post it. Might not happen till May sometime.
