Default Morimoto F1 LED Fogs in '08

Hey all,

I purchased a set of Morimoto F1 LED fogs. Of course, I realized why they don't quite work for '08 and older. While the passenger side works and fits fine, the drivers side does not work because the aim adjuster tab bracket is on the wrong side.

TRS claims the need to buy this bracket (BL3Z-15266-B) to replace the existing one if you have '07-10. Well this bracket is clearly for '09+ models because the size and everything is way off, there is no possible way it can work. Although the aim adjuster bracket is correct, this part will not work for a '07-08.

So before I dive deeper into this project, have I missed a thread or something somewhere with a fix to this? I have not called TRS yet, bringing this up here first.

Any help is appreciated. Here are some pictures.

This was a picture of it in that bracket TRS suggested to buy, you can see the aim adjester tabs line up but the entire thing is bigger than the stock one

EDIT: I now see, reading through some articles for 09+ that they will not work because of the aim adjuster tab. I am doing a retrofit though and taking the back of the RH fog bracket and cutting it out and gluing to the LH bracket. Pics to come if anyone is interested, otherwise I wont take any pictures.

Simple fix would be to mount an "L" bracket to the bucket where it is needed. Then run you adjustment screw and spring up into the fog light arm to make adjustments.

L bracket? Are you talking about the adjuster tab? Since its plastic, i can only do so much. I had thought about just cutting the tab off and glueing it to the other side but figured i wouldnt have as much strength as if i did the entire back portion.

Edit: or do you mean something like this? http://www.lowes.com/pd_315714-1277-...d=3169855&pl=1 I admit that is a good idea but dont know if that would line up.

Well thanks to D Brasco and that idea, that was extremely simple, here are some pics. Juat JB welded the metal L bracket to the fog light bracket. Let dry and hit with some black paint. Works great, lights are well worth the price and give me the exact type of light i am looking for.

Sheesh of course that happens after i buy them, never fails! Guess i should have been smarter to wait for a holiday deal. For $100 it is well worth it. I have some retrofit FX-R lights being created soon so i will have headlights to match.

$2 Bracket http://www.lowes.com/pd_315714-1277-...763-_-10935405

$6 Epoxy http://www.lowes.com/pd_355110-81288...=1&Ntt=jb+weld

can be done overnight!
