I realize the OEM HIDs aren't the best out there. And I knew this going in when I purchased mine a few weeks ago. They are certainly better than the halogens but I really can't say I'm overly impressed. Maybe my expectations were too high.

Nevertheless, I am now strongly considering cutting open my old headlights and going the retrofit route. I know the retrofits will obviously be better than OEM but does anyone have any pictures comparing the two in the same environment?

It has output shots for a bunch of different projectors, including the OEM ones, all in the same controlled environment so you can clearly see the differences between them. Now I am definitely convinced ditching the OEM for some FX-R projectors would be worth it.

for a direct swap, the EVOX-R projector will literally screw right in.

That's a great link...even the MH1 looks better than the OEM projector.
