Advice/Help with light replacement
Hey,
Looking for some advice about replacing my headlights. Stock headlights on a 2010 XLT 4x4, they honestly suck, I can't see anything at night. I live in MT and drive quite a bit in the dark, need lights that will actually let me see on a dark backroad.
Any recommendations of effective, affordable lights?

Yep - buy or build a set of HID projector retrofits.

DO NOT go the cheap route and attempt to just drop in a set of PnP HID's or LEDs. Neither are actually effective or safe for others.
The PnP crowd will froth at the mouth claiming otherwise - safe to say they are nice fellers (with one exception - the multi-identity Troll) but exceedingly misinformed.

If ye elect to DIY - and many have - peruse the forum for some recent threads on this - obtain parts and advice from www.theretrofitsource.com
Couple linkies fer ye:

And .. some entertainment: https://www.f150forum.com/f38/led-headlights-306488/
Lastly - you can drop in a set of 13-14 Factory OEM HID assemblies. Good stuff, but not cheap. Truly good lighting seldom is. Which is why Brosef J. Ricer prefers PnP.... lol.
Best o' luck!
Cheers!

Pretty much what he said....."Cheap" and "Effective" usually don't go together in the same sentence when it comes to forward lighting. It's an "Oxy" actually. I have an '11 Lariat. Myself, aside from the aftermarket lighting that I have, I decided to go with the '13-'14 factory HID update. One of the best mods I've done. I just kept an eye out on Ebay, Amazon, etc. until I found a complete pair in stock form. Paid $950.00 plus the harness ($125.00 I think at the time), and haven't looked back. Well actually I have. Got to do something about that eventually............
First pic with stock Halogens, then the HID update.
