If the lights are not PIAA, send them back. This brand WILL give you the most/best light period!!

An LED light bar will be the quickest, easiest upgrade for light. Retros are great, but the light bar will outshine them on the high beams.

I'd say it depends on size of lightbar!

My HIDs on high drown out my Duallys.

i too have the Hella evo-xr retrofits in my OEM HID housings and the output on them is far superior to any cheap light bar. hell they outshined my eBay 40 inch bar.

I like the idea of having OEM HID's retrofitted for a more "stock" look.

When the various vendors retrofit OEM HID's with the upgraded components, do they gut them and more or less use just the housings? If so, I bet I can get a pretty good deal on some OEM lights that are having internal problems (flickering, etc)..... if they are going to be gutted and everything replaced, it doesn't make sense to buy brand new OEM lights to have the expensive parts thrown away.

Yes but some vendors will only use new housings they supply so check on that first.

They'll at least do OEM housings, some will take your factory lights as a deposit also. Check out HIDPlanet for comparisons of the different projectors. FX-Rs and Evo-XRs fit well, but others like the LS460 or Acura TL may be too long and require body modification to fit behind the headlight.

I know the Evos are pretty much a drop in option with little tweaking of housing to fit.

I know most of the reputable places don't do used housings. But you can check with others.

Thanks for the help guys.

Really like the look of bilinvic's HID retrofit... but damn, $700 more for the OEM HID retrofit vs the OEM halogen.
