2013 HIDs: Bouncy??
I just recently installed some 2013 HID's in my 2012. All factory set-up. One thing I notice is that when you're driving through some rough road, gravel etc... and it's bumpy, the light seems to bounce around a bit. Even if I slam the door shut, the lights bounce a bit. Is this normal??? I ask, because my wife has a Nissan Murano that has HID and they are solid, no bounce at all. I should mention too, that the mounting is all correct and tight, no missing support tabs or anything like that. If there is a cure, I'd sure like to know...small investment at this point!

I've heard this complaint before for OEM '13 heads...not retrofitted '13 heads for the record. The igniter for the D3S bulb is integrated into the bulb, which means extra weight on the back end of the projector which theoretically could cause this bouncing, whereas retrofitted projectors don't have this additional weight as the igniter is in the ballast.
The other possibility is that you may not be used driving with the cut-off, which makes the light output seem bouncy, but the cut-off is moving in conjunction with the stiffer suspension over every road irregularity and/or bump.
I run with '13 retrofitted heads and do not notice one single bounce from mine. I'm certainly not trying to promote my product with this post, just trying to provide thoughts on this topic.

I thought about the cutoff and moving "with the truck" but, I think you're right about the bulb...I just wasn't sure if there was anything I could do. If the bulb is changed, do you have to swap out the projectors to, or is it a direct swap? Ballast a direct swap?
I wonder if others can confirm that swapping/retro would cure the "shakes"?

You can modify a D2S bulb base to fit the D3S socket, but the ballast is specific to the D3S bulbs. These would have to be changed out as well.

It's not a big deal for me...at the moment, but it does bug me. My focus is on wheels/tires/lift for now, but it sounds like I'll have to upgrade to get rid of it. I'm eagerly awaiting comments from both that are stock and those that have upgraded.

It's either the cutoff shield moving since it rests on two posts or it could be the weight like mentioned. I drive with my fogs on so I barely notice it and its only on rough surfaces or bumps.
I had a set of Acura TL's and they use a forward folding shield design like our projectors do. On real rough bumps sometimes I could see the TL beam move too. On other bixenon projectors that slide the shield out of the way like an E55 or EvoX this doesn't seem to wiggle as much. Could just be an inherent design flaw with these types of bixenon projectors. Who knows? It doesn't bother me for now. I'll probably upgrade projectors later on anyways.
